Q. We plan to tow our dinghy vehicle behind our motorhome on a dolly. Will
the brakes be legal?
A. Make sure your dolly has operating brakes; not all
tow dollies come with this feature. Since a dolly only carries one axle, the other axle of
the dinghy vehicle is unbraked. Most states that require brakes on towed vehicles (or
trailers) don’t specify how many axles must have operable brakes. However, you should check
with the specific states you intend to travel in to be sure.
