Q & A: Aftermarket Equipment

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

Q. I’m considering the purchase of some aftermarket equipment to increase
the power of my motorhome. My dealer said this would void the warranty. Is that correct?

A. The warranty cannot be voided simply because one or more aftermarket
parts have been added. However, if a part that has been changed causes a failure, the
vehicle manufacturer can refuse to cover that aftermarket item and other components that
may have been damaged as a result.
