Porteau Cove, Cultus Lake Canadian Parks Open for Camping During 2010 Winter Olympics

Porteau CovePorteau Cove and Cultus Lake Provincial Parks will be open early for
camping during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games for the entire month of
February to provide additional and affordable accommodation in the Lower
Mainland of Canada.

 

Campers will have two options within provincial parks operated in the
Lower Mainland area: Porteau Cove and Cultus Lake. Porteau Cove
Provincial Park is located on the scenic waterfront of Highway 99
between Vancouver and Whistler. Cultus Lake located near Chilliwack,
British Columbia, and about an hour and a half away from Vancouver.

Porteau Cove Provincial Park will open the drive-in and walk-in
sites along with additional parking spots available for RVs only in the
day-use parking lot. Rates for Porteau Cove will range from $10-$35 per
night. Electrical hookup fees at Porteau Cove are an extra $8 per
night.

Cultus Lake Provincial Park will open Delta Grove and Clear Creek
campgrounds and charge $28 per night with full toilet and shower
facilities. All parking fees will be in effect for both parks and can be
made payable upon arriving at the campground.

Reservations for Cultus Lake and Porteau Cove for February 2010 are
now being taken. Call 604-986-9371 or e-mail [email protected]. A
reservation fee of $25 will apply for each reservation. The bookings for
February 2010 will run independently from the Discover Camping
reservations that occur in the summer camping months.
