Play Outdoors With Xanterra

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

According to Judi Lages of Xanterra Parks & Resorts, “Everyone, no
matter what their age or physical ability, should have a chance to see
Mother Nature’s splendor up close.” Xanterra offers a variety of
activities with trained interpretive guides to answer questions about a
park’s history, geology and wildlife. Many folks are intimidated by the
mere scope of our national parks, and going with an organized group or
guide helps their comfort level. Xanterra offers visitors a variety of
options, including trips by foot, horseback, stagecoach, mule and
snowcoach.

For sun worshippers, consider a visit at this time of year to Death
Valley National Park in California, where you can play golf or tennis,
swim at Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort or at Stovepipe Wells
Village, tour Scotty’s Castle, take a sunset carriage ride and, of
course, view some of the most unusual volcanic formations in the world.

For snow bunnies, consider spending some time at the country’s
first national park, Yellowstone, in Wyoming and Montana. Here you can
snowshoe, cross-country ski, ice skate, go snowmobiling, watch the
wildlife, thrill to the geo-thermal shows and take a variety of classes
from photography to writing.
