Pace Arrow 36D Full-Wall Slide

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

Until a couple years ago, RV full-wall-slide technology had been like the weather, in the
sense that everyone sat around and talked about it, but few did anything about it. With its
Pace Arrow 36D coach, however, Fleetwood RV has joined the rarified ranks of motorhome
manufacturers offering floorplans featuring a full-wall-slide system. The 36D’s streetside
full-wall-slideout segment is 23 feet long and 30 inches deep. It offers a wider aisle
between the galley and rear bedroom suite, and — courtesy of the huge slide’s 57-1/2
square feet of added space when extended — enables up to 340 square feet of expansive
living area. “The Pace Arrow 36D full-wall-slide floorplan sets a new standard in space
comfort on a high-end Class A gas motorhome,” said Chris Braun, executive vice-president of
Fleetwood RV. “After a year of development and rigorous validation testing, Fleetwood’s
patent-pending slide system is positioned to elevate consumer expectations for space and
comfort in all RV industry segments.” Braun further explained that full-wall-slide units
will provide the customer with more of a residential feel than other coaches with smaller
slides and hourglass-type floorplans. He also observed that people walk into a
full-wall-slide product and exclaim, “Wow — I can see from the front of the motorhome
clear to the rear!” The Pace Arrow 36D features a front living room area, mid-coach
curbside galley and an enclosed half bathroom with toilet and basin. Opposite the galley is
a free-standing dinette, followed by a master bedroom with a smaller curbside slide farther
aft. At the very rear of the unit is an open and spacious area with a corner shower with
curved door, plus an additional washstand. For 2005, the Pace Arrow line offers four
distinct décor treatments, a choice of six full-body paint schemes to add a touch of
personal customization, and an optional W24 chassis that carries a 24,000-pound gross
vehicle weight rating. Some of the more prominent amenities that further punch up glamour
and livability in this coach include a stainless steel faced, double-door refrigerator;
hide-a-bed sofa; voluminous rear wardrobe; and elegant French sliding glass doors that
provide a privacy screen for the bedroom. Fleetwood RV believes its new full-wall-slide
floorplan is a unique feat of engineering. One thing’s for certain: With six diesel and
seven gas Class A lines in the Fleetwood family, this is one big idea that’s sure to show
up elsewhere. Soon. Fleetwood RV, (800) 444-4905; fleetwoodrv.com
