Out of Africa, Outside of Phoenix

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Head 90 minutes north of Phoenix and find yourself in Africa. Well, Out of Africa is more like it.

At the Out of Africa Wildlife Park in Camp Verde, Arizona, you can feed a giraffe, watch a zebra smile for handouts and see tigers play and chase plastic inflatable prey in and out of a swimming pool. Tour the Masai Mara and Serengeti sections in special tour vehicles or just walk the footpaths of the wildlife preserve to see a variety of animals and big cats from around the world.

Other attractions include a Behind The Scenes VIP Tour, Feed A Tiger and other special safari tours to allow closer interaction and more photo opportunities with the animals. A huge parking lot can handle the largest RVs. The park is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets are $32 for adults and $20 for children ages 3 to 12. For more information and directions call (928) 567-2840 or visit www.outofafricapark.com
