A new addition to Thor Motor Coach’s Challenger line of premium gas-powered Class A motorhomes brings with it what the company called “the most innovative kitchen design ever for a motorhome.”
The 2013 Challenger 37GT model offers consumers an island kitchen with “massive countertop spaces” and multifunctional overhead storage with a wine rack that includes hanging glass storage. A hidden trash receptacle resides in the peninsula.
The 38-foot Challenger has an elongated sofa with kick-up footrest which, along with the swiveling captain’s chairs, provides a nice view of the hide-away, retractable 32-inch LCD TV. The free-standing buffet dinette provides a view of the campsite under the patio awning, while keeping the “open concept” throughout the coach.
This new floorplan also features a large sofa and recliner combo with hide-a-bed, walk-through bathroom with dual vanities and full length mirror, and panoramic windows opposite the kitchen. A 19-inch bedroom TV comes standard, as does the DVD player and home theater sound bar.
“The size of the kitchen sets this floorplan apart,” said Joel Grimm, Thor’s national sales manager for gas motorhomes. “It feels big, and if you like to entertain, this is the coach for you.”
