To simplify checking my RV’s LP-gas cylinders without removing the shroud, I took a small plastic mirror and heat-bent it to a 60-degree angle. I then secured the mirror to the regulator with hook-and-loop fastener. Now I can easily see the red flag in the sight glass to tell when one cylinder is empty.
Bending the mirror is an easy procedure. You can use a heat gun to warm it, then bend it using a wide, flat tool like a flashing bender. A vise with something around the mirror to protect it from scratches works as well, or you can even try using the edge of a workbench. If you don’t feel up to the task, a glass shop should be able to do this for you.
