The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that it has developed a test for electronic stability-control systems.
Stability-control systems help drivers control their vehicle and avoid rollovers, using sensors, separate wheel braking, and throttle control without driver input.
NHTSA reports that stability control was instrumental in cutting single-vehicle crashes by one-third and single-SUV crashes by two-thirds.
