GM Increases Rebates
General Motors has announced that it is raising cash rebates on sport-utility vehicles and pickup trucks to match Ford. GM is boosting rebates on most four-door, full-size pickups to $1,500. Rebates on other full-size trucks have been increased to $2,500. Midsize SUV rebates are up to $1,750.
El Monte RV Expands
El Monte RV, one of the largest U.S. motorhome rental companies, has opened facilities in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in the Dalls/Fort Worth area. El Monte offers 1,500 to 1,800 units for rent.
Camping World Donates to CARE
Camping World is allocating a percentage of its sales to Escapees RV Club members for the Escapees CARE facility, which offers short- and long-term medical care for RVers in Livingston, Texas.
OnStar Adds Services
OnStar has tapped The Weather Channel and its Web site, weather.com, to provide subscribers with current weather information at the touch of a button. Subscribers will be able to access current weather conditions, extended forecasts and severe weather alerts for their vehicles’ current location. Additionally, they can log on to www.onstar.com and build a profile of cities for which they can also receive weather reports on the mobile service.
