New Model News: Newmar’s Bay Star

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

motorhome” might sound like an oxymoron — but more and more
manufacturers are recognizing the need to offer smaller, relatively
inexpensive Class A coaches.

Builder of such prestigious diesel lines as the Essex, Mountain
Aire, Dutch Star and Ventana, Newmar Corporation definitely knows what
it takes to craft a luxury motorhome — but for 2007, the company is
also touting its newest coach at the other end of the price spectrum.
The all-new Bay Star, offered in seven two-slideout floorplans from 27
to 33 feet, starts at just $95,396.

What that gets you is a Ford F53 chassis, 362-hp engine,
in-floor ducted heat, central air conditioning, 4.0-kW Onan generator,
flat-screen TV, 8-cubic-foot refrigerator, day/night shades, oak
raised-panel cabinet doors — even a rearview camera system with audio.
Exteriors feature vinyl graphics with a painted skirt, A&E side
awning, power entry steps and lighted storage compartments.
