Monaco Lays off 1,400 Workers

Monaco Coach Corporation, a major motorhome manufacturer, has announced it will shutter coach building factories in Elkhart, Nappanee and Wakarusa, Indiana. Monaco will shift its coach building to its headquarters in Oregon. About 1,400 Indiana workers will be laid off in mid-September. Monaco’s Class-A manufacturing capacity will drop by half to around 90 per week. Monaco reports that it is offering a compensation package and assistance with moving expenses for workers relocating to the Oregon facility.
