Larry H. Imig’s colossal idea for his combined Travel Car Lodge. Imagine two RVs – a relatively short motorhome and a relatively long travel trailer – attached by a patented hookup mechanism that, when joined and covered in removable aluminum siding, presented a virtually seamless silhouette. It was, as envisioned, a whopping 60 feet of fun – and probably could have been even longer. Only California’s vehicle-length limit on the books in 1963 restricted the size.
