Lees-ure Lite’s Tiny Tent Trailer

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

The founders and current owners of Lees-ure Lite tent trailers started the company in 1972 as cyclist enthusiasts wanting a practical trailer to tow behind their bikes. This Original Cycle model is still available today; however, the company has added some width to the original design creating the Excel, a more versatile unit that holds a double bed. Built on a steel frame with a carpeted fiberglass tub, the Excel is sturdy, yet light enough to be towed by virtually any vehicle at the small price tag of $4,795. The tent is available in five color choices and is 100 percent polyester, so it won’t shrink or rot, according to the company. The owners still work in the Lees-ure Lite factory everyday sewing the fabric and cutting the steel required for the frame.
