Jayco Unleashes Seneca HD Diesel

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

Heavy-duty Class C motorhomes – coaches built on brawny medium-duty cab
and chassis – are becoming increasingly popular among motorhome
enthusiasts looking for the luxury of a Class A combined with the
maneuverability of a Class C.

The newest member of this select group is the Jayco Seneca HD.
Built on a Chevrolet Kodiak Top Kick chassis, the new product line is
available in two models: a 34-footer with dual slides and a 35-foot
model with triple slides. Both are powered by a Duramax 6.6-liter 300-hp
turbodiesel V-8 engine and an Allison 1000 5-speed automatic
transmission.

According to Paul Gardner, Jayco’s senior product manager, the
Seneca HD’s 53-degree turning radius is “the tightest turning radius …
of any chassis in its class.”

Airy, upscale interiors feature North Ridge maple cabinetry and
Corian countertops, remote keyless entry, 24-inch flat-screen
television, automatic hydraulic leveling jacks, Onan 5,500-Kw diesel
generator, Class A-style baggage doors and remote-controlled Eclipse
patio awning. Options include back-up camera and monitor, exterior
entertainment center and an outside gas grill.
