Jayco’s premium Eagle line of travel trailers is designed for long-term use and offers spacious living areas with residential-style amenities. There are four different floorplans offered in the Eagle series, with a variety of options including select model bunk rooms with sleeping accommodations for up to 10 and an outdoor kitchen.
The 3330 RLTS model featured here has three large slideout rooms, two of which expand the living area. It’s the only one of the Eagle models with slideouts on both sides of the trailer. When you walk in you truly get the feeling that you’re in a house rather than an RV, as the main living area has one of the largest unencumbered floor spaces on the market.
Besides the wide-open feel created by the slideouts, an 81-inch ceiling height further adds to the sense of spaciousness. Residential furniture, cushions and window treatments designed and made by Jayco add a warm feeling, and the optional Ledgestone fireplace top off the residential effect.
There are many standard, convenient features, like a convertible Dream Dinette, a comfortable sofa bed and a Carefree adjustable electric-pitch awning. Swivel rockers provide a comfy place to watch the 32-inch LCD HDTV in the living area, which is cable- and satellite-TV prepped and has an HDTV antenna with signal booster.
The kitchen features plenty of room for food prep, in addition to all the amenities needed to cook a meal.
Standard galley equipment includes a three-burner range with an oversized 21-inch oven. A deep double-bowl sink with sink covers and solid-surface kitchen countertops provideample space for food preparation, and the 8-cubic-foot double-door refrigerator holds plenty of victuals. The freestanding dinette table with four chairs offers plenty of elbow room.
Adding to the residential feel in the bathroom is a porcelain toilet and dark wood cabinetry. The seamless tub/ shower surround with a glass shower door also has the look of an upscale stick home.
A large slideout provides extra width in the bedroom for the queen bed, and allows plenty of open space to walk around. The bed lifts easily on gas struts for under-bed storage, and the large wardrobe closet and chest have plenty of room for clothing and personal items.
The walk-around queen bed and large wardrobe add to the residential feel.
OUTSIDE
Standard exterior equipment includes an aerodynamic wrap-around front fiberglass cap and smooth fiberglass side walls, adding durability. The seamless one-piece rubber roof helps reduce the chance of water leaks. TuffShell vacu-um-bonded floors, and laminated side walls, rear wall and slideouts with welded tubular aluminum framework further enhance durability.
Underneath, you’ll find 15-inch radial tires stopped by Dexter Nev-R-Adjust brakes mounted on E-Z Lube axles to reduce maintenance chores. Instead of the typical steel equalizers, MOR/ryde suspension with CRE 3000 axle equalizers and rubber springs contributes to a smoother ride. The I-Class cambered structural steel I-beam frame features a one-piece design.
The unit comes with an outside shower and is prepped for an outside grill. Dual 7-gallon LP-gas cylinders and 80 gallons of fresh water capacity allow for extended camping.
The interior of the Eagle is very spacious, thanks to the triple-slide configuration.
Weather proofing is engineered thoughtout, with slide-out awnings, rain gutters that are molded with extended drip spouts and thermal pane tinted safety-glass windows. The water system winterization kit includes a water-heater bypass system, while heated and enclosed freshwater and holding tanks help prevent freezing.
There’s reflective foil insulation in the slideout floors and roof, the baggage doors are insulated and there’s a Poly Flex one-piece moisture barrier underbelly covering. The Glacier Package adds an extra layer of R-7 insulation in the roof and R-15 foil in the main floor for really cold climates.
Jayco is recognized as one of the first manufacturers to produce gold-rated products, tested by TRA Certification Inc., an independent, third-party green certifier, and the company continues to follow environmentally friendly practices.
