Jayco motorhomes and Spartan Motors’ RV chassis division unveiled a new diesel motorhome at the 2018 Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa. The 2018 Jayco Embark is the first diesel motorhome under the Jayco brand with a specially designed and equipped Spartan K1 360 chassis, according to Steve Guillaume, president of Special Vehicles for Spartan Motors.

2018 Jayco Embark black, red and brown motorhomeThe Embark will be a new, lower price point than any other Spartan Chassis-equipped coach, built on its own proprietary K1 chassis, Guillaume says, while keeping the handling and performance Spartan Chassis is known for on its higher gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) chassis.

The Embark’s K1 360 platform will feature a Cummins ISB-360 powerplant mated to an Allison 3000MH electronic 6-speed transmission, 12,000-pound rated independent front suspension and 10,000-pound towing capacity. The chassis is also equipped with an HTB rear suspension that improves roll stability, and a side-mounted chassis service center that provides direct, one-stop access to most components needed to perform chassis maintenance.

As with all Spartan chassis, the K1 360 will benefit from the company’s 3-year, 50,000-mile warranty, in addition to the Cummins 5-year, 100,000-mile warranty and the Allison 5-year, 100,000-mile warranty, all backed by over 280 service centers nationwide.
