For the 2006 model year, Mopar will offer the Jacobs Exhaust Brake for Cummins-powered automatic-transmission-equipped Dodge Rams. The new exhaust brake utilizes updated powertrain software to maximize torque-converter lock-up performance and to protect the Ram’s 48RE automatic transmission, resulting in up to 170 retarding hp, according to the manufacturer.
Manual-transmission Jacobs Exhaust Brakes are also available.
