America’s RV-manufacturing capital recently welcomed a newcomer to its ranks: East to West, a division of Forest River. The fledgling Elkhart, Indiana, manufacturer’s initial offering, the Della Terra travel trailer, rolls off the production line with eight models from just under 23 feet to nearly 33 feet.
“Our focus is on manufacturing high-quality, value-added products with a limited number of floorplans,” says Lindsey Espiritu, East to West’s marketing manager. A case in point is the 30-foot 27K2D with dual entry doors and “value-added” standards that range from a 15,000-Btu air conditioner to an enclosed underbelly and holding tanks.
Across from the flush-floor dinette slideout, an 8-cubic-foot double-door refrigerator dominates the kitchen. A 9-inch innerspring mattress, typically an extra-cost option, tops the king-size bed. Two bunks in back also come with mattresses that are a step up from standard fare. The Della Terra 27K2D has a gross vehicle weight rating (gvwr) of 9,488 pounds and a base MSRP of $23,800.
