HitchHiker’s Guide to RVing

The NuWa HitchHiker II L/S is a compilation of specialized floorplans crafted for smaller and lighter fivers to produce a value-priced trailer that maintains NuWa’s quality.

The three-slide 29.5 L/S has two large opposing slideouts, which create a very open, spacious galley and living room. Warm, rich oak cabinetry gives the interior an inviting upscale appearance, complimented by the freestanding dining table with hidden leaf and matching upholstered chairs that share the curbside slide with an entertainment/computer desk combination. The optional matched pair of overstuffed swivel recliner/gliders ($750) will no doubt offer a relaxing retreat.

Natural interior light and panoramic views abound thanks to a number of well-placed windows throughout the rig.

A dining area with plentiful overhead storage and an entertainment center fill the curbside slideout, and a full-size sleeper sofa is housed in the larger streetside slide it shares with the fridge and stove. The floor-to-ceiling entertainment center incorporates additional storage, and houses the Magnavox 27-inch color TV and surround-sound system (both are included in the Value Package). The computer desk is integrated into the cabinetry with a countertop drilled for wiring, and supplies a pullout keyboard drawer.

The standard 8-cubic-foot fridge has its door shrouded in the same oak decor as the cabinets (also part of the Value Package. An Atwood range and oven combo is provided in addition to the Space-Saver microwave (part of the Deluxe Package).

The self-contained bathroom incorporates a corner shower with skylight, storage vanity and toilet with a large hamper/closet that converts to hold either the optional Splendide combo washer/dryer or Majestic stack set ($1,575 option).

In the bedroom, the queen headboard sits in the streetside slide with small venting side windows and bedside shelves. Under-bed storage of larger items is available under the queen mattress. Overhead storage is provided for clothing, with space for the optional 13-inch color TV ($175).

With excellent storage inside and out and upscale features — plus the larger slides and roomy floorplans found in longer and heavier rigs — the HitchHiker II 29.5 FKTG is certain to appeal to those looking for a smaller and lighter fifth-wheel that can still be factory customized to cater to individual needs.
