Headphones You Can Sleep In

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

If you spend a lot of time in the copilot’s seat, chances are you might doze off every now and then when you’re not busy telling your pilot which exit to take for the RV park. And if you have different tastes in music than your pilot, you might be listening to your music on your CD player, iPod or other MP3 device. With SleepPhones, if you fall asleep while listening to your music, you won’t be uncomfortable. Tagged “pajamas for your ears,” SleepPhones are headphones that are encased in a soft fleece headband, and they come in two shades of lavender, black, and gray. Since the thin headphones are padded and hidden within the fabric, you’ll feel like you’re wearing a soft, non-headache-inducing headband and not uncomfortable plastic headphones.

Once you arrive at your destination, if your pilot or copilot likes to snore, SleepPhones are a great way to drown out those unpleasant nighttime noises. A variety of sleep music is available for free download on the company’s website, with tunes such as waves, birds, flowing water, even a “breakfast sizzle” if you choose to sleep through the night with your SleepPhones and want to wake up to the sound of bacon sizzling in a pan. Whether or not you wake up your snoring copilot to make breakfast is up to you. SleepPhones retail for $54.95.
