GW Van Celebrates ’30’ With Two-Zone ‘B’

GW Van Celebrates '30' With Two-Zone 'B'A traditional 30th anniversary would ordinarily include pearls, but Great West Van Conversions (greatwestvans.com)
has leaned toward steel, glass and aluminum. They are the primary
components in the company’s Sprinter-based Legend van camper, available
with special paint, and embroidered headrest and sofa armrest covers in
recognition of the company’s milestone anniversary.

In addition to the noteworthy tones and stitching, the conversion van
offers travelers two-zone living quarters. Granted, such arrangements
are fairly commonplace in the RV industry today — but usually,
manufacturers have a lot more than 22 linear feet to work with.

Great West designers managed the feat by incorporating
swiveling driver/passenger chairs that double as dinette seating. “With
two-zone living, your bed can stay made in the back because it’s not
part of the dinette,” noted Wade Wilken, Great West’s general manager.
“That’s a big issue for a lot of people.”

Built on the 10,040-pound gvwr Dodge Sprinter chassis and
powered by a 2.7-liter, 154-hp Mercedes-Benz turbodiesel, the Legend is
available in multiple floorplans, including fixed king- or twin-bed
configurations, and an electric tri-fold sofa/bed mounted on a track
system that moves the sofa from front to back to increase storage — and
access to the sub-floor storage trunk incorporated into all 2006 Legend
models. The bathroom also optimizes space with its unique hideaway
vanity, which disappears inside the wall when not in use.
