Greyhawk & Granite Ridge

JAYCO INC. HAS ADDED TWO NEW LINES TO ITS CLASS C motorhome offerings: the Granite Ridge and the Greyhawk brands. “We are very pleased with these two new lines,” says Wilbur Bontrager, chairman of Jayco’s board. “These motorhomes will have many of the luxuries found in bigger motorhomes, but with the vanlike handling many RVers prefer. The Granite Ridge is the closest you can come to a Class A in a Class C motorhome, and the Greyhawk offers automotive convenience in a high-value package.” The Granite Ridge is offered in four models, built on a Ford cutaway chassis, in lengths ranging from 27 feet 11 inches through 32 feet 9 inches. The smaller 23- and 24-foot Greyhawk models are available on the GM chassis as an option; the Ford chassis is standard on all the Greyhawk 23- through 31-foot coaches. Wheelbase lengths range from 159 through 218 inches, and the Ford 6.8-liter V-10 and Chevrolet 8.1-liter V-8 are the standard power plants. Slideout rooms are commonly available in both product lines. New exterior graphics and four interior color schemes – Brown Leather, Fresco Green, Limestone Gray and Bermuda Sand – are standard, as are basement-style storage compartments, a multitude of interior lights, a premium CD-equipped stereo system and electric exterior mirrors. All Ford-based coaches have rubber-isolated body-mounting systems. The coaches use vacuum-bonded laminated roof, wall and floor structures, and include EPDM rubber roofs, fiberglass side walls and polystyrene insulation, with aluminum framing throughout. The Greyhawk line features many of the Granite Ridge components, but offers the buyer smaller, more affordable coaches. The model pictured in the interior photo, the Granite Ridge 3100SS model, includes a master bedroom out back with a walkaround bed, a sofa bed and a dinette in the slideout, and a curbside galley. The bath is aft, just ahead of the bedroom, and a large cabover bed is standard. Fluid capacities for both coaches, built on Ford chassis, include 38 gallons of fresh water, 40 gallons of gray water and 36 gallons of black water. Jayco’s Customer First roadside assistance program, which offers 24/7 help in case of breakdown or other mechanical problems, is free for the first year of Granite Ridge or Greyhawk ownership. Each coach is also covered by a 2+3 warranty, meaning two years bumper-to-bumper and three years on the structure. Suggested base retail prices for the new models are $66,386 for the Granite Ridge 3100SS 31-footer and $60,307 for the Greyhawk.
