Good Sam Names Top Pet-Friendly RV Parks

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

More than half of RVers travel with their pets, so finding a good park for Fido, Spot or Mittens is priority No. 1. The Good Sam RV Travel Guide has compiled a list of the very best parks for pets from all across the country. These parks offer lots of open space for running, and pet-friendly rules about where pets can play and “go.”

Read on for three of the very best RV parks for pets.

Evergreen Park RV Resort

This Dundee, Ohio, RV park lies in the heart of the state off of Highway 250.  It’s a great home base to explore all the state’s Amish Country.  The park features many games such as horseshoes, shuffleboard and an indoor heated pool for the chilly Ohio winters.  Visitors can also take an Amish buggy ride.

For pets, the park offers a pet grooming station, plenty of open areas and green space among the 87 spaces.

Deer Creek Park Topeka Kansas Deer Creek Valley RV Park

Visitors passing through Topeka, Kan., will find this park an ideal place to stay and play with their pets.  The brand-new park features 59 spaces with all the amenities, even free Wi-Fi and cable.  It also features a heated outdoor pool, as well as concrete pads with patios and plenty of room for slideouts.

Dogs will love the fenced-in dog park, and everyone will love the on-site storm shelter if that Kansas weather isn’t behaving.

The park is a great place to explore the state capitol, find fantastic antiquing and visit the gorgeous Heartland and Shawnee lakes.

Sun Life RV Resort:PMP Mesa Arizona Sun Life RV Resort/PMP

Snowbirds looking for a great winter nest need to check out this RV park in Mesa, Ariz.

With close proximity to baseball spring training, the Arizona Temple Visitors Center, A.S.U. and the Mayo Clinic, it’s a great spot for all walks of life.  The heated pool, spa and a smorgasbord of outdoor games — including a batting cage — make the resort a great inclusive 55-plus community.  The park even has rental RVs for folks looking to try something new.

Pets have plenty of open space to run around and the park is a short drive to McDowell Mountain Regional Park — a great place for a hike or long walk with the pooch.
