Going Global

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Describing China as an “untapped market” for the RV industry, Riverside, California-based MVP is planning to build and export 30,000 vehicles to China as part of an agreement with Chinese investor Winston Chung, who is also MVP RV’s majority owner.

The vehicles are to be exported east over the next three to four years.

But perhaps the best part of this venture is that it is expected to create more than 1,000 new jobs in an area of California hit particularly hard by the recent recession.

So, not only does the RV lifestyle — which is present in China but hasn’t yet thrived — broaden its scope, but employment opportunities arise back
here in the states. Seems like a win-win situation to me, but I’d love to hear what you think.
