Gas prices continue to move upward, but some analysts now believe that pump prices have
peaked after reaching all-time highs. AAA reports that the average price of gas nationwide
is 21.9 cents per gallon higher than it was a month ago and 37.6 cents per gallon higher
than it was one year ago, according to its weekly report on fuel prices.
The national
average for regular self-serve gasoline also hit an all-time high of $2.116 — up six cents
from last week. An Auto Club spokesperson said, “Motorists can expect gas prices to
continue rising for a couple of weeks, but there could be light at the end of the tunnel.
Motorists may see relief at the pumps as soon as the middle of April.”
