Flair 34′

While not everyone can afford a high-end diesel pusher, we can all appreciate the advanced
level of technology found in a luxury motorcoach – for reasons not solely limited to the
finer things in life. The high-end arena is where most innovations debut before the
economies of scale allow them to trickle down to where the rest of us live. The most recent
recipient of this is Fleetwood’s 2004 Flair 34F. The affordably priced coach has gained a
third slide, built with the company’s proprietary Power Platform Construction, specifically
designed to accommodate triple slides. Chris Braun, senior vice president of Fleetwood RV,
explains, “Triple-slideout floorplans are desirable because they offer increased floor
space without increasing unit length – and without unduly increasing chassis requirements
and costs. The Flair 34F triple-slide gives the customer the same exciting floorplan
innovations that are found in more expensive diesel and gas motorhomes.” With four-point
electric leveling jacks positioned, the touch of a button slides the fully equipped galley
slideout to the extended position; the same button, toggled in the opposite direction,
extends the living-room/dinette slide. The rear stateroom features its own touch-button
control that extends the queen-size bed (the island bed houses storage below). With all
three slideouts extended, an additional 62 square feet of living space is created. However,
the slideouts need not be extended to enjoy the full array of creature comforts and
appointments incorporated into the coach. Available on a Workhorse or Ford chassis, the
Flair is capable of towing 5,000 pounds – plus, it boasts a cargo-carrying capacity of
approximately 2,300 pounds (Workhorse) to 2,800 pounds (Ford). Most of the motorhome’s
storage capability is due to its impressive 91 cubic feet of basement storage. Centrally
ducted, dual high-efficiency roof air conditioners are standard, as are the dual
30,000/20,000-BTU furnaces (also centrally ducted). The climate-control system has built-in
protection against low-voltage conditions in RV parks. With its standard 5.5kW gasoline
genset, capacious fresh-, gray- and black-water holding tanks and standard solar charging,
full-service dry-camping can be enjoyed in the Flair for days on end. With its smart
exterior paint and graphics, the 34F is at home in the most-upscale RV park. Using the same
laminated, vacuum-bond type of construction employed to build Fleetwood’s high-end luxury
motorcoach products, the 34F triple-slide nonetheless has a suggested retail price of just
