The Minnie’s high-gloss fiberglass side walls come in six colors (platinum is shown above) and are constructed using the same methods and materials as Winnebago motorhomes.

Families are an ever-growing segment of the RV marketplace, and manufacturers are smart to pay attention to the desires of this demographic. Winnebago is one such brand, offering vibrant exteriors and modern interiors appealing to new generations of RV buyers. Families will want to take a look at the 2019 Winnebago Minnie 2455BHS, which provides a traditional bunkhouse floorplan in a nontraditional package.

Interior and Exterior Decor

The striking exterior is the first thing you notice about the Minnie 2455BHS. Buyers can choose from six colors. Royal blue, green and cherry red offer the boldest statements, while platinum, white and champagne are more traditional. The graphics package is modern and sporty, and the gleaming fiberglass exterior adds to the sleekness.

In recent years, Winnebago trailers have stood out from the crowd with their airy interiors. For the 2455BHS, the Stone decor package with whitewashed woods is somewhat reminiscent of a beach cottage, while the newly introduced Pearl decor package (shown here) has almond-colored fabrics with dark cocoa accents. The new wood cabinets are a warm maple color.

Functional Floorplan

The Winnebago Minnie 2455BHS features a U-shaped dinette

Opposite the galley, the roomy 40-by-84-inch U-shaped dinette sits in a slideout illuminated by three windows.

The kitchen houses a double stainless-steel sink on a small peninsula, which opens up the counter space and provides additional storage space underneath. Chefs will also appreciate the outdoor kitchen. Across from the kitchen, the 2455BHS showcases a large U-shaped dinette on a side slideout. To keep the length reasonable, this floorplan does not have a sofa; you’ll have to bump up to a Minnie Plus 27BHSS to get both.

Winnebago's 2455BHS earns its bunkhouse status with rear bunks.

Double-wide rear bunks have accessible USB charging ports.

Sleeping Spaces

Compact bunkhouse models often sacrifice privacy to conserve space, but the 2455BHS has a private master bedroom. Albeit small, the room features a full-length queen-size mattress.

Kids will love the corner bunks found at the rear of the trailer. The double-size width will be appreciated, though taller teens may not find the height of the bunks as comfortable. USB charging outlets are easily accessible in both bunks.

Crunch the Numbers

Families seeking a lightweight bunkhouse will be glad to note that the 2455BHS is towable by properly equipped half-ton trucks, coming in at 5,320 pounds (dry) and less than 28 feet long. The base MSRP of $31,600 is reasonable when considering the quality of the construction, materials and integrated features associated with the Winnebago brand.

The Minnie 2455BHS delivers a fully functional family floorplan in a fun package.
