THE ENDEAVOR GAS FROM HOLIDAY RAMBLER IS the company’s most luxurious Class A gas-powered motorhome, offering many of the high-end features found in a diesel coach. Available in 35-and 36-foot lengths, depending on which of the six available floorplans are selected, all models include a streetside kitchen-suite slide-out. Some include a curbside bedroom slideout as well. Powered by a 6.8-liter (415-cid) Ford V-10 and backed by an automatic transmission with overdrive, the Endeavor Gas rides on a Ford Super Duty F-Series chassis, suspended both front and rear with leaf springs. A 5:38:1 axle ratio, a 130-amp alternator and a 5,000-pound hitch receiver with skid bar and six-point connector are standard, as are 245/70R19.5 Load Range F radial tires.

Stopping power comes from four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. The Endeavor Gas is based on the company’s Alumaframe Superstructure with steel-cage cockpit construction, a steel-framed floor on steel trusses and a peaked aluminum roof with fiberglass insulation. Smooth gelcoat fiberglass exterior walls and front/rear molded fiberglass caps complete the construction on the outside, while 5/8-inch Sturdi-Wood laminated flooring, interior paneling with 3/4-inch bead foam and a Soft-Touch padded vinyl ceiling make up the inside. Other features include a block foam-insulated underbelly and one-piece polyethylene-lined storage compartments.

Entering through the curbside door, the driver will find a fiberglass automotive dash, leather-faced pilot (six-way power) and co-pilot recliner seats, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with four speakers. A tilt steering wheel with cruise control, power-controlled heated exterior mirrors and a rear-vision system round out the cockpit amenities. A driver’s door and a laptop computer workstation are optional. Behind the driver’s seat is an Easy-Bed sleeper sofa (except in model 35SBD, which features a Hide-A-Bed sofa), while aft of the passenger seat is a swivel barrel chair. Western-oak cabinets with solid-wood doors, a cultured-marble kitchen countertop with sinks and covers, a booth dinette with drawers and an 8-inch ceramic tile kitchen floor (except model 36PBD, which uses linoleum/laminate flooring in bathroom and kitchen, respectively) complete the coach’s midsection interior details. Kitchen appliances include a large double-door refrigerator, a 17-inch high-output three-burner range/oven and a Space Saver microwave with touch control and a range hood (except model 35SBD, which does not use a Space Saver). Available are two- or four-door refrigerators with icemakers, a water purifier and a convection/microwave oven with touch control.

Entertainment is provided by a 20-inch stereo color television, plus a VCR with a video-switching box andcable-TV hookup. Optional items include Martha Stewart fabrics, a dinette table with two freestanding or folding dinette chairs, a leather-faced sleeper sofa (not available on model 35SBD) and a leather-faced swivel recliner chair.

Out back, the Endeavor Gas features a queen bed with bedspread and headboard, a full-length dressing mirror, a 13-inch color television with remote control, a cultured-marble lavatory top with an integrated sink, a china toilet and sprayer, and a one-piece fiberglass shower with a glass door and 8-inch ceramic tile flooring. Potential owners can bypass coin-operated laundries with an available washer/dryer prep, a 10-gallon gas/electric water heater (requires 50-amp service; not available on models 36PBD and 36SGS) and a vented combination washer/dryer.

The electrical system consists of an Onan 5.5-kW AC generator, two 6-volt deep-cycle house batteries, a 55-amp electronic power converter and a 30-amp/120-volt AC distribution panel. Interior climate is adjusted by electronic controlled dash heating, 13,500- and 11,000-BTU roof air conditioners with ducted air and a wall thermostat, and a 35,000-BTU furnace with an in-floor ducted heating system. Also available is a cold-weather package, two 13,500-BTU roof air conditioners, a 12-volt DC attic fan and a heat pump.

The Endeavor Gas has a gross vehicle weight rating of 20,500 pounds on all models, with a gross combination weight rating of 25,500 pounds, a front gross axle weight rating of 7,000 pounds and a rear gross axle weight rating of 13,500 pounds. Fluid capacities include 75 gallons of fuel, 55 to 70 gallons of fresh water (depending on the model), 45 gallons of gray water (except model 35WGS, which carries 43), 45 gallons of black water, 32.9 gallons of LP-gas and a 6-gallon water heater. The Holiday Rambler Endeavor Gas has a retail price range of $98,000 to $110,000, depending on model and options.
