MONACO HAS ADDED A TAG AXLE to its 40-foot Dynasty Class A with the Regent floorplan and
produced a new double-slideout model called the Queen FD. The new model features a
traditional floorplan with a front entry door, a streetside slideout with a J-shape sofa
bed and a refrigerator, a curbside midcoach galley, a walk-through bath and a rear bedroom
with a streetside queen-bed slideout and aft-wall wardrobe. Monaco builds the new Dynasty
on a 254-inch-wheelbase Roadmaster chassis powered by a Cummins 350-hp 6C8.3 engine rated
at 1,050 lb-ft of torque and equipped with a standard Pacbrake exhaust brake. Also standard
on the Roadmaster is full air suspension with 10 outboard-mounted air springs and 10
Bilstein gas-charged shock absorbers, an Allison MH3000 World Transmission, full air
ABS-equipped disc brakes and Goodyear steel-belted radial tires. Adjustable driver’s
pedals, a 118-gallon fuel tank and automatic chassis air leveling are likewise standard.
The Roadmaster has a gross vehicle weight rating (gvwr) of 43,000 pounds and a 53,000-pound
gross combination weight rating (gcwr). A steel frame with polystyrene insulation makes up
the coach body, which is wrapped in fiberglass over a lauan backer and molded-fiberglass
end caps plus a fiberglass roof. Dual-pane windows are standard. The driver and front-seat
passenger are treated to powered six-way-adjusting leather seats with electric lumbar
adjustment and a powered footrest on the passenger seat. Power-adjustable sun visors and a
driver’s sun shield are likewise found up front. Buyers can choose from four standard
colors plus three Ralph Lauren-inspired decorator schemes, including Polo Club, Stetson and
Park Avenue. Stained- or natural-oak woodwork, wallpaper on all walls, solid Corian
countertops and basket-weave-pattern ceramic tile make up the primary interior coverings,
and there are numerous optional woodwork styles available. Users are entertained by the
standard Sony DVD player, a Bose LS-8 home theater system with five speakers, a 160-watt
in-dash AM/FM/cassette/CD stereo system, 20-inch stereo television sets up front as well as
back in the bedroom, and there’s also an optional complete DSS satellite-TV system. Galley
appointments include new countertop-edge treatment, a Corian countertop extension, a
recessed three-burner rangetop and an 8-cubic-foot refrigerator with icemaker. The
motorhome’s standard electrical system includes a 50-amp power cord and distribution panel,
a Genstart 2,000-watt inverter, a 7.5-kW Onan Quiet Diesel AC generator on a powered
slide-out service tray, four 6-volt house batteries and one 8D chassis battery. Fluid
capacities for the Dynasty include 100 gallons of fresh water, 60 gallons of gray water and
40 gallons of black water, plus 45 gallons of LP-gas. Monaco has priced the new Dynasty
40-foot Queen FD at $260,000. Monaco Coach Corporation, (800) 634-0855, monacocoach.com
