Drawer Latch

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

We have two drawers in our travel trailer that acted as a battering ram on the cabinet door that conceals them while traveling on winding mountain roads. On our last outing the drawers successfully knocked the door off the cabinet, ripping the door off at the hinges. To fix this problem I installed slide locks on the top left corners on both drawers (I bought these at Home Depot). These slide locks come with a small metal plate that attaches to the wall and the latch fits snugly inside the plate. I used wooden match sticks to fill the holes where the hinge screws once were, and was successful in reinstalling the hinge screws in their same location.
