When Discovery Communications launched Destination America on Memorial Day weekend as “the first cable network to celebrate the people, places and stories of the United States,” it seemed like the perfect destination for Liberty Coach.
After all, few American success stories compare to the company’s rise to prominence, from a family doing Greyhound bus conversions in their backyard back in the 1970s, to what Liberty Coach is today: among the oldest and most successful companies in the luxury motor coach conversion industry.
And that’s the story millions of viewers will have the opportunity to see and hear on “EPIC,” a new home and lifestyles program created and produced by popular TV and video program developer Tremendous! Entertainment, whose credits include longtime cable hit “Bizarre Foods America.”
As the new show’s name implies, “EPIC” will showcase truly epic customizations of homes, yachts, swimming pools, and of course, motorhomes. For which Liberty Coach was an obvious choice.
“They loved all of the technology and luxury on the inside,” Liberty Vice President Frank Konigseder said of the coach featured on the program, the #752 Triple Slide Lorenzo Edition. “The Crestron integrated remote control system, the Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances, the 48- and 32-inch HDTV displays throughout the coach — I think those are the kinds of things they were looking for.
“But what they probably found more surprising was that from our point of view, this coach isn’t any more extravagant than any other we build. On the contrary, it’s our standard. And it’s what people who know top-of-the-line bus conversions and motorhomes have come to expect from Liberty Coach.”
“EPIC” will premier Sunday, Dec. 16, at 10 p.m. EST on Destination America. The Liberty Coach episode, which was shot in July at Hearthside Grove RV Resort in Petoskey, Mich., will be aired within the first four weeks of the new program’s run.
