Demco Dominator Tow Bar

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

The ability to tow a dinghy is one of the many advantages of having a motorhome. It allows you the freedom to leave the rig at a campsite while you explore the surrounding area without worrying about finding suitable parking. Getting your dinghy set up for towing doesn’t have to be tricky, as the Demco Dominator tow bar demonstrates.

The self-aligning Demco Dominator weighs only 30 pounds and tows up to 7,500 pounds and, according to the company, it has the “highest towing capacity of any aluminum RV-mounted tow bar on the market.” Since there is no ball and coupler to deal with, the tow bar attaches directly into the receiver with a conventional hitch pin. You won’t need to worry about the arms of the tow bar dropping to the ground since they are self-supporting and also independent, so you can connect one at a time.

The tow-bar mount (that goes into the receiver) has a built-in 11½-inch rise/drop, and an adjustable towing angle allows 3 inches of adjustment. An Easy Trigger Release system (black levers on the side of the aluminum body) allows you to connect/disconnect even on uneven ground. The Dominator also features a four-position storage lock. Safety cables and a limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser are included with the purchase.
