Country Coach’s Allure 42′

In a market crowded with high-end Class A diesel-pusher motorhomes — and more on the way almost every day — a buyer is faced with a stunning array of options and alternatives. Whittling choices down to a single coach can be difficult; it’s a lot more involved — and a lot more expensive — than simply buying an automobile. Fortunately, as in many consumer product areas, certain names have earned a reputation for quality, taking some of the guesswork out of the decision-making process.

Country Coach has, historically, been just such a brand, and our recent road trip in a Country Coach Allure 470 model — a 42-foot rig with a tag axle and all the usual features one could want in a $397,505 coach — showed that, if anything’s changed, it’s for the better. The Allure combines the best features of a quality-built home with those of a fine driving machine.

Our evaluation vehicle featured the Siskiyou Summit four-slideout floorplan. The forward living room/galley includes a curbside kitchen and sofa/bed slideout facing a streetside dining table/reclining chair slideout. The bath includes a separate toilet enclosure with its own vanity sink, a large corner-type shower and a second main vanity sink that’s part of the streetside bedroom slideout. Curbside, there’s a slideout with the bedroom television, storage unit and counter.

Country Coach provides plenty of spaces to stash your stuff, both inside and out. Huge basement-style compartments and numerous inside cabinets mean even a full-timer with lots of belongings can likely find spaces for all of that hardware. How does almost four tons of cargo capacity strike you?

The Allure 42-footer covers all the bases — and provides the kind of luxury-grade travel and living accommodations expected of a higher-end diesel-pusher coach. A buyer would likely find the Allure a fine match for an upscale lifestyle.
