Colorado’s Leanin’ Tree Museum of Western Art

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

In farm-equipment stores and souvenir shops across the nation, people chuckle at the
Leanin’ Tree greeting-card rack, exhibiting skinny saloons and caricature cowboys. The
Leanin’ Tree Museum of Western Art in Boulder, Colorado, however, is no laughing matter.
Artwork goes beyond humorous greeting cards to more than 200 paintings and 80 bronze
sculptures by many acclaimed Western artists. Free self-guided tours through the museum’s two floors bring to life the beauty and romance of the early West. The 2,000 different
cards, depicting Western art, wildlife and uplifting themes, are available in a spacious
gift shop, open daily.

Leanin’ Tree Museum is located southwest of Colorado Highway 119;
take the 63rd Street exit south to Longbow Drive. For information and hours, call (303)
530-1442, or go to leanintree.com.
