Coach House Debuts New One-Piece Fiberglass Manufacturing Process

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

Coach House Platinum Motorhomes recently revealed the one-piece fiberglass manufacturing process that accounts for its no-leak, no-squeak Class C motor home. The one-piece, gel-coated fiberglass body has been reinforced with carbon fiber to ensure that Coach House Platinum motorhomes do not leak, squeak or rattle.

After 18 months of trial and error, the Coach House engineers perfected the one-piece fiberglass body and developed an assembly process that attaches the shell to the chassis before adding other components. Because of the single-piece design, Coach House motorhomes are not built in assembly line fashion, but in a stage-progression assembly process. Each development in the coach is accomplished one step at a time. The assembly process ensures tighter fits, higher quality construction and a safer product.

Other new developments for the new Coach House Platinum models include a 15,000-Btu air conditioner with a heat pump, a wider service door, a wider entrance step, rain censored and thermostatically controlled Fantastic Roof vents, an ergonomically designed dashboard, and a reinforced over-the-cab compartment mounted with a new HD LED widescreen TV and Blu-Ray DVD player. There are two new cabinet finishes in honey maple and lakeside cherry, along with the addition of solid maple wood door fronts, increased storage spaces, elegant stainless steel fixtures, new recessed lights, a redesigned battery disconnect panel and two new beautiful exterior full-body paint schemes.

Coach House Platinum Motorhomes are built on Ford and Mercedes chassis with special attention given to the interiors. Coach House does not use particleboard in its cabinet construction, instead opting for light-ply plywood that decreases the cabinet weight by 33 percent, according to the company. Units also come complete with heavy duty double aluminum sided insulation with an R-18 factor.
