California State Parks Raise Day Use, Camping Fees

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

California’s state parks have raised their day use and camping fees. The
fee increases, which vary by park and took effect Aug. 17, are in
response to the state’s budget woes.

Day use parking fees are now $2 to $5 higher, while camping fees
are an additional $10 to $21 a night. Reservations made before Aug. 17
will be honored at the old price.

The California State Parks system has posted its new day use and camping fee list by park here.

A list of potential state parks to be closed is expected to be
released after Labor Day, according to Roy Stearns, the state parks’
deputy director of communications.
