Allegro 30′

Generally, when you think of a Class A with double slideouts, you envision a coach at least
35 feet in length at the upper end of the price scale for its class. But Tiffin Motor Homes
recently added a 30-foot double-slide model to its Allegro line that retails for $83,500.

The Allegro 30DA is available on Ford chassis with 18,000-pound or 20,500-pound gross
vehicle weight ratings (gvwr), or on a Workhorse platform with an 18,000-pound gvwr. The
Ford chassis are powered by the 310-hp 6.8-liter V-10 engine with a 4R100 four-speed
automatic transmission, while the Workhorse is powered by the 340-hp 8.1-liter Chevrolet
V-8 engine with the 4L80-E four-speed automatic transmission. Unloaded vehicle weights of
14,890, 14,900 and 15,320 pounds are claimed for coaches built on the Workhorse, the Ford 18,000-gvwr and the Ford 20,500-gvwr chassis, respectively.

Like other coaches in the Allegro line, the 30DA uses a steel/aluminum-reinforced structure with laminated floor, side walls and ceiling; front/rear fiberglass caps; a standard one-piece domed rubber roof (one-piece fiberglass roof optional); and a gelcoated fiberglass exterior. Inside, the coach features standard cloth Flexsteel driver/passenger seats, above which is an overhead cabinet housing the standard 26-inch television. Optional equipment includes a Panasonic VCR, a driver’s door and a backup camera/monitor. The living area contains a 66-inch Easy Bed just aft of the passenger seat; a 72-inch dinette booth and an L-shape galley are housed in a galley slideout. Standard features include a double-bowl sink, a three-burner cooktop with oven, a microwave oven and simulated oak cabinetry; an 8-cubic-foot refrigerator and a pantry are located curbside, just aft of the center entry door.

The bath features a separate toilet room with sink, across the aisle from which is the shower with a skylight and a wardrobe. Out back, a side-mounted 60×76-inch bed is housed in a curbside slideout. At the foot of the bed on the streetside are twin wardrobes, overhead cabinets and a shelf to house the optional 13-inch television. The 30DA comes standard with an Onan 4-kW AC generator, one 13,500-BTU roof air conditioner and a 30,000-BTU ducted furnace.

For customers with special needs, the coach can be optioned with a 5.5- or 7-kW AC generator and higher-rated air-conditioning units with heat pumps. Capacities include 75 gallons of fuel, 53 gallons of fresh water and 6 gallons of water in the DSI gas/electric water heater. The heated holding tanks accommodate 70 gallons of gray water and 45 gallons of black water.
