Walking through the bedroom and living area of the new Winnebago Adventurer 37B is likely to give one the sense of being in a modular home rather than a motorhome. The theme in this new model is interior spaciousness – a design driven by Winnebago customer demand.
What differentiates the Adventurer 37B – and its twin, the Itasca Sun Cruiser 37B – and makes it much roomier are the bedroom suite streetside and curbside slideouts. “Our objective with the 37B was to offer a Class A gas floorplan for full-timers that offered two distinct lounge zones to allow for comfortable seating and good access to entertainment features, “noted Bill O’Leary, vice-president of product development for Winnebago.” In a lot of cases, full-time RVers who spend six- to nine months a year on the road are looking for a quiet place where they can work on crafts, the computer, read, or watch television. So, we created this really comfortable, inviting lounge area in the bedroom that lets them do just that.” The bedroom’s opposing slideouts move the queen bed and the entertainment center/wardrobe outward to create the bedroom suite, complete with a pair of lounge chairs and a 24-inch flat-screen television. “We talk a lot about the bedroom, but up front is also inviting,” said O’Leary. “We have a 27-inch flat-screen Sony television above the hutch, behind the dinette. That placement allows easy viewing from the couch, the swivel chairs and part of the dining arrangement. That space also makes a very comfortable conversation area.” This area features a sofa bed and a dinette in the forward streetside slideout opposite the curbside galley. The dinette, as with the other furnishings, is offered in oak or cherry, but O’Leary noted that if you really want the look and comfort of
home, opt for the Benchmark Full Comfort dinette (an option exclusive to the 37B) which
maintains the flexibility of an additional small double bed. The 37B’s list of standard
equipment includes ceiling-ducted central heating and air conditioning and a heat pump so
the furnace doesn’t have to be fired on those chilly mornings. Outside, there’s 105 cubic
feet of basement storage in the StoreMore system that moves the storage compartments out with the slides for easy access. Like all Adventurer models, the basis is a Workhorse
Custom Chassis (a W22 for the 37B) coddling a 340-hp GM 8.1l Vortec V-8 backed by an
Allison 1000 electronically-controlled five-speed automatic. The 496 cid engine develops
its peak torque of 455 lb/ft at 3,200 rpm and peak horsepower at 4,100 rpm. The chassis
package also incorporates four-wheel anti-lock brakes, a 145-amp alternator, hydraulic
leveling jacks, 5,000-pound-capacity hitch receiver and a 75-gallon fuel tank. Winnebago’s
new coach has a base msrp of $130,227; fully loaded with all the options available brings
