Nissan recently showed off the new 2016 Titan pickup truck at the Detroit auto show, with an on-sale date due later this year. It’s been a dozen years since the Tittan was redesigned, but the upcoming changes may make the wait worthwhile! Three different engines will be offered, including V-6 and V-8 gas engines and a  turbodiesel V-8. Titan will come in three cab styles; Single, King, and Crew Cab and three lengths. Aerodynamics will be improved, with front, roof and tailgate spoilers, underbody covers, and other aero tweaks to reduce wind resistance.

It features a two-stage turbocharger system for reduced lag and is rated at 310 horsepower and 555 lb-feet of torque.  XDs get a stronger front suspension and leaf-spring rear end with an American Axle differential and available electronic locking rear differential. Nissan has stated it will have a maximum tow rating of more than 12,000 pounds, and a heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission. Titan XD also will have available watertight locking storage boxes in the bed.

Four-wheel drive will be offered, along with hill-descent control, hill-start assist, and trailer-sway control, tow and haul mode, and an improved trailer-light system. The 2016 Titan offers a rearview camera, which helps with hitching a trailer. There’s also a built-in gooseneck tow hitch. Titan comes with choices of 17-, 18-, and 20-inch wheels, and includes heavy duty four-wheel disc brakes.
