Ford has just announced a new range-topping model in the new 2013 Super Duty Platinum. Platinum Super Duty trucks will be available as crew cabs in the F-250, F-250, and F-450 models.

Platinum pickups get a unique satin-chrome grille with mesh inserts and several “Platinum” designations on the body. Twenty-inch polished aluminum wheels with black inserts are standard and the truck also will have a monochrome finish with painted bumpers.

Engines choices include the 6.2-liter gas V-8 and the 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel with either two- or four-wheel drive. Additional powertrains are said to be in the works.

Standard features on the Platinum model include navigation, rear view camera, remote start, power-telescoping mirrors, power-adjustable pedals and a universal garage-door opener. Additionally, a special version of Sync with MyFord Touch is designed for drivers wearing gloves. A rearview camera, navigation, remote start, power-adjustable pedals and mirrors, all come standard on the Platinum. There’s a “media bin” that can hide two personal devices; and has two USB inputs, RCA connections, a 12-volt outlet, and an SD-card slot for the nav system. A 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat is also standard, and a heated, leather-trimmed steering wheel features real wood trim. Chrome is applied to the tow hooks, door handles, mirrors, running boards, and exhaust tips.

The new 2013 Super Duty Platinum will be available at dealers later this year. Available colors include in Ruby Red, Kodiak Brown, Tuxedo Black, Ingot Silver, and White Platinum. Pricing and tow ratings have not been announced yet.
