Who says trailer and fifth-wheel toy hauler-owners get to have all the fun? Thor touts that the Outlaw is the “original Class A toy hauler that started it all,” and in 2011 it’s easy to see how it continues to fit the needs of buyers looking for a roomy motorhome that can also provide plenty of room for bikes and other toys.
The Outlaw rides on a Ford chassis with a 6.8L Triton V-10 engine and five-speed TroqueShift automatic transmission with overdrive. Construction highlights include dual pane windows, a one-piece tinted wrap-around windshield, full basement pass-through storage and an exterior shower.
Both Outlaw floorplans (3611 and 3808) include a loft with a queen-size mattress and a 19-inch LCD TV over the garage that can be separated from the rest of the space by a privacy curtain. A Euro recliner and sofa with air bed provide adequate seating next to the galley, which is Spartan but adequate with a half-time convection microwave with cooktop, a pantry and an 8 cubic-foot flush-mount double-door refrigerator.
The highlight is undoubtedly the garage, which is perfect for housing golf carts, motorcycles, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, ATVs and any other toys that require their own space. A remote fuel-filling station means you can keep your toys ready to go, and a stainless storage cabinet keeps accessories tidy.
Options include a booth dinette instead of the sofa, an exterior entertainment center with a 26-inch high-definition LCD TV, a 19-inch LCD TV in the garage and an electric queen lift bed in the garage.
