10-Minute Tech: Soggy Shirt Sleeves

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

When washing down an RV with a long-handled brush, water runs down the pole, past your hands and ultimately drips from your elbows. To prevent this uncomfortable circumstance, cut the bottom off a plastic bottle (I used a 1-quart oil container), slip it over the handle about a foot away from the brush and fasten the neck opening to the handle with electrician’s tape. This makes a watertight seal.

Now when I wash my rig, the excess drains back into this container. Each time I dip the brush in the bucket, the accumulation is returned to the wash solution. This little modification has kept my arm dry on many long-handled wash operations.
