Washington’s Cascade Mountains are a four-season playground, with recreation opportunities at every turn in a rugged landscape. From winter snowmobile adventures to spring fishing jaunts, this region delivers. Rimrock Lake Resort, on the shores of scenic Rimrock Lake, puts RV travelers in an ideal position for year-round Cascades fun.
Rimrock sits in an exceptional part of the Pacific Northwest. Guests can spend one day on the lake, another hiking in the Cascades or exploring Mount Rainier. Speed lovers can take a side-by-side off-road vehicle, while folks seeking something slower can fish or hunt. In winter, ski White Pass or hit the surrounding snowmobile trails, depending on the season. The resort works as both the destination and the home base for whatever adventure brought you to the mountains.

Along Route 12
Rimrock is easily accessible on U.S. Route 12. No matter when you stay, guests can enjoy a wide array of amenities, including a dump station, restrooms, showers, and more. Wi-Fi keeps guests connected, and ample sites, including big rig spaces, accommodate a variety of vehicles. Cabins are also available, with a variety of floor plans for couples along with large families.

With a boat launch and the lake’s only marina, guests have convenient access to adventure on the water across the lake’s 2,546 acres.
When guests aren’t relaxing at their sites, they can swim or use the dump station, showers, and bathrooms. Picnic tables are available at the sites. Tent camping and cabins are also available. The on-site convenience store sells food, drinks, camping essentials, RV supplies, fishing items, and those little things everyone inevitably realizes they forgot once they’re already in the mountains.

Summer Cascade Fun
The lake comes alive during the warm-weather months. Guests can have a blast boating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, or swimming. The nearby Cascade Mountains become a top draw, with hiking and outdoor recreation in practically every direction. Mount Rainier National Park is about an hour away, making Rimrock a great basecamp for guests who want to explore the Cascade Range up and down.

Awesome in Autumn
As temperatures drop, the area of the Cascade Mountains transitions into hunting season, with elk, deer, black bear, cougar, and forest grouse in hunters’ sights. It’s also prime time for off-road vehicle adventures. Folks who like to hit the gas can take the Rimrock Lake OHV Loop, a demanding 115.7-mile loop route nearby that accommodates off-road exploring with fewer crowds. Russell Ridge features steep climbs, tight singletrack, and tight switchbacks rated as difficult/black diamond. When Rimrock Lake’s water levels drop dramatically in late summer and fall, parts of the exposed lake bed and island paths open up for off-road exploration.
For low-key fun, adventurers can pursue hiking, fishing, and quieter mountain weekends as the leaves and weather change.

Winter Get Wide Open
Rimrock Lake Resort is surrounded by snowmobile recreation and trails, and White Pass Ski Area offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding approximately 15 minutes away. Highway 12 keeps this entire mountain corridor surprisingly accessible through the winter.
Springtime Fun
Fishing, hiking, and camping begin picking back up as the snow melts, waterfalls and mountain streams come alive, and Rimrock Lake begins filling for the summer season.

Speaking From Experience
Guests can rest assured that Rimrock’s owners have an outdoor adventure background. Frank and Katie Dearman discovered Rimrock while camping and fell in love with the location. Since buying it, “We spent our first season looking at the property through the eyes of the guests,” explains Frank. “Our focus has been improving the overall experience while keeping the laid-back, slightly wild mountain character that made us love the place in the first place. We’ve focused on improving the overall experience while keeping the laid-back, slightly wild mountain character that made us love the place in the first place.
“Ultimately, we want guests to think of Rimrock as their basecamp in the Cascades, whether they’re pulling in with an RV and a boat in July, hiking their way through the Pacific Northwest, bringing a side-by-side for a fall weekend, arriving with skis or a snowmobile in winter, or simply looking for a cabin and a quiet weekend in the mountains.”
