[RV Spotlight] The Axiom Imperium I3800 Fifth-Wheel

Although Axiom is a relative newcomer to the RV space, it is making waves with its Imperium luxury fifth-wheel model. Of particular note is the I3800 floor plan, which comes with a slew of upscale features including a tilting king-size bed, residential-style appliances and an ottoman that transforms into a table. The bath-and-a-half model even has two patios, with a party deck in the rear and a smaller side patio off the primary bedroom. Ample onboard storage, massive couches, a 65-inch smart TV and a gigantic pantry are just a few of the other amenities. The rig even looks amazing from the outside, with a contrasting black-and-white design and a striking shape unlike anything else at the campground. MSRP: $164,979; axiomrv.com

[Must-Have Gear] Soft Start RV

Air conditioners require a great deal of power when first starting up, which puts a lot of strain on your RV’s electrical system. Adding a SoftStart device reduces the current required by as much as 70 percent, making A/C startup more efficient and reliable. It can even allow you to run dual A/C units from 30-amp power, keeping the interior cool and comfortable all summer long. MSRP: $299; softstartrv.com

[Summer Camping Trip] Made in the Shade

Modern RV air conditioners are quiet and efficient, but they can still struggle to cool things down in extreme heat. Don’t forget to change the A/C filter before the start of the camping season and whenever possible, park your rig in the shade. This will help keep the interior cooler and save energy by taking some of the load off your A/C unit.

[Spec Sheet] What is a Fully Walkable Roof?

Sturdy decking and reinforced trusses provide enough support for owners to stand and walk on their RV’s roof while conducting routine maintenance. If your vehicle lacks this feature, avoid walking on it altogether.
