Class C coaches are most definitely having a moment. Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen a resurgence in interest in these motorhomes, as Class B owners look to move up to something a little bigger, and Class A owners transition to something a little smaller and more maneuverable, without sacrificing comfort. One of the latest Class C models to hit dealers is the new Entegra Coach Esteem XL Golden State Edition 32U, which dazzles with its luxurious interior, while impressing with its rugged exterior. And by the way, it also happens to be CARB compliant for places where that matters.

Measuring 33′ 5″ from nose to tail, the Esteem XL rides on a Ford F-550 chassis and is equipped with Koni FSD shocks and Hellwig Helper Springs to improve stability and comfort. Under the hood, you’ll find a 6.7L V8 turbo-diesel engine offering 320 horsepower and 950 pound-feet of torque. It has a ten-speed automatic transmission and comes with four-wheel drive and heavy-duty G-rated tires. Essentially, everything to keep you motoring down the road—and maybe even a little off-road—in style.
Inside, the motorhome is as impressive as you would expect from Entegra Coach. Notable features include recessed LED lighting, hardwood cabinets and drawers, a JBL sound system, and a Firefly multiplexing system. The kitchen features an all-in-one cooktop and oven, a residential-size microwave, solid-surface countertops, and a legless dinette. Meanwhile, the bathroom includes a porcelain toilet, roomy shower with a SHOWERMI$ER water management system, and a recessed stainless steel sink. Not to be outdone, the bedroom comes with a walk-around king-size mattress, integrated nightstands with USB charging ports, and a spacious wardrobe.

In addition to the Esteem XL’s long list of features, the Golden State Edition also happens to adhere to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) standards for light trucks and RVs. Essentially, this means any motorhome with a GVWR over 14,000 lbs. must meet stricter emissions requirements in the state and other states that have adopted CARB rules. Additionally, those vehicles must also undergo annual emissions inspections and testing to ensure they continue to meet the elevated emissions standards. This has prevented some Class A and Super C models from being sold in California, but this model can be purchased and registered there. It should also be noted, that the current Whitehouse administration is challenging some of the CARB regulations.
