- SkyDream Reveals Three Travel Trailers for Global RV Market: This week, RV startup SkyDream revealed some of its plans for expanding into the global RV market by announcing not one, but three unique travel trailers. Those include the all-terrain Space Camping model, an on-road-only towable called the Land Yacht, and an off-road/overlanding-focused rig called the Polar Crossing. All three RVs ride on the same high-tech proprietary “skateboard” platform which includes large house batteries, plenty of solar power, AI-assisted features like autonomous parking, and much more. We were on hand at the reveal in San Jose, CA, a few days back, and had the chance to see the Space Camping travel trailer in person. Expect more details next week, but for now, check out the SkyDream website to see what they’ve got cooking.

It seems the folks over at Ember are planning to expand their lineup by adding a fifth-wheel model sometime early next year. Details beyond that are slim, but we’re already excited to see what the brand is working on in this form factor. - 100th Anniversary of Route 66 is Drawing Road Trippers: Kampgrounds of America shared interesting data this week surrounding a resurgence of interest in cross-country road trips, thanks in part to celebrations surrounding the 100th anniversary of Route 66. The news comes via a preview of the soon-to-be-released 2026 edition of KOA’s Campground and Outdoor Hospitality Report, which shows 43% of campers are planning an Americana-focused road trip. Many of those travelers are choosing to drive the “Mother Road” in particular, as they explore the small towns, quaint roadside attractions, diners, museums, and other stops along the fabled route, which runs for 2,448 miles from Chicago to Santa Monica. - 2026 National Parks Week will Celebrate America’s Story: This year’s annual National Parks Week is set to take place August 22-30, but will carry especially important significance in 2026. That’s because not only is the National Park Service celebrating its 110th birthday, it is also the 250th anniversary of America’s independence. As a result, the NPS is already planning a host of events and activities that will take place in parks across the US, giving visitors a chance to join in on the fun. Those activities will include patriotic programs, guided tours, family-oriented gatherings, and new educational exhibits. Find out more here.

- The Dyrt Reveals Most Retired Campers Go Camping More: This week’s trends report from online campsite discovery platform The Dyrt reveals that retired campers tend to increase the amount of time they actually spend camping. While that may sound somewhat unsurprising considering retirees have more time on their hands, it’s how many of them that go camping more often that is a bit eye-opening. According to the company’s 2026 Camping Report, 80% of retirees say they camp more post-retirement than before. The data further points out that 5.1 million North American campers are over the age of 65, which means 4 million of them are increasing the frequency of which they camp once they no longer have the burden of a full-time job to occupy their time. And as we learned last week, older campers prefer RVs over tents, which means most of those folks are RVers. Find out more here.
