Offering cozy wooden cabins and replicas of Conestoga wagons for lodging, Big Texan RV Ranch cultivates an Old West atmosphere. But beyond the John Wayne exterior, this Amarillo location, close to Interstate 40, backs it up with a Texas-size array of amenities and entertainment.
For RV travelers, the resort’s 92 full hookup spaces give campers plenty of elbow room, with 90-foot lengths and 30/50-amp power. All are pull-through sites with 30-foot widths, making the resort ideal for folks with larger RVs. Once guests are settled in, the free Wi-Fi meets guests’ communication and entertainment needs.

All guests can feast on free coffee and bagels in the morning, or head right to the indoor pool and sauna. A playground jump pad keeps the kids occupied, while dogs can romp in one of the three fenced dog parks.

Juicy Steak
The park is located just a short drive from the affiliated Big Texan Steak Ranch, which serves up tasty slabs of beef in a Western atmosphere. In operation since 1960, the restaurant is famous for the legendary 72-ounce Steak Challenge: the diner who consumes this huge serving of meat within an hour gets to walk away without paying. Those who don’t have the stomach for this Texas-style mega meal have to fork over $72.
Beyond protein, the Big Texan Brewery pours craft beers that perfectly complement a meaty meal. If you’d like to take a piece of this establishment home with you, drop into the gift shop for souvenirs like plates and steak knives. The restaurant even sells Big Texas Steak Seasoning so that diners can create the same flavors at home.

A shot drive east of the RV Ranch, the Starlight Ranch Event Center is a concert venue that has hosted acts like Cody Johnson, Parker McCollum, and Robert Earl Keen.
