At long last, it’s finally Friday again. But before we start the weekend, we have just enough time to recap the biggest news from the RV industry this past week. Here are a few stories you might want to know about:
- Overland Expo East Takes Place This Weekend: The fifth—and final—Overland Expo event of 2026 takes place this weekend (Oct. 3-5) in Arrington, VA. As usual, there will be dozens of seminars and training sessions to attend, hundreds of exhibitors, fun social events, and more. Wildsam will be on hand passing out magazines and guidebooks, so if you’re at the event, be sure to stop by and say hello.

- Ember Debuts All-New Touring Edition Travel Trailer: The Fall Detroit RV & Camping Show is going on this week, and our friends at Ember RV took advantage of the event to unveil a “reimagined” version of its Touring Edition travel trailer. The 2026 version of this already excellent towable receives an upgraded suspension courtesy of CURT, a five-point intelligent leveling system, and new residential features like solid-surface countertops, stainless steel sinks, and heated and massaging theater seating with USB chargers. - East to West Intros New College Avenue Class C Coach: Forest River sub-brand East to West RV introduced an updated version of its College Avenue Class C motorhome this week. Named after the street in Goshen, IN, where Forest River first launched, the new coach includes a variety of new features, including upgraded power packages, dual A/C units, and the option to replace the gas generator with a 600W solar package that includes a lithium battery bank. - Go Fast Campers Debuts V2 Max Truck Camper: If you’re in the market for a super lightweight truck camper for wilderness adventures, Go Fast Campers has you covered. The company’s new V2 Max model builds on the brand’s winning formula of integrating a rooftop tent into a slide-in truck bed frame. The latest edition to the GFC catalog expands on the company’s Pro Camper model, adding 18″ in length for more capacity, versatility, and accessibility. - Airstream Shares Most Popular Floor Plans of 2025: Ever wonder which Airstream models and floor plans are the most popular? Well, wonder no more. In a blog post shared this week, the iconic company shared which of its travel trailers received the most attention in 2025, with some popular models coming out on top. In the category of the most popular traditional travel trailer floor plan, the 25FB Trade Wind came out on top. Single axle model? It was the 22FB Caravel, while the Basecamp 20x took home top honors for that specific nameplate. - Dometic Launches 200W ShadeTech Solar Panels: While we’re on the topic of portable power, at last week’s Elkhart Open House event in Elkhart, IN, Dometic launched new and improved versions of its Go Power ShadeTech solar panels. The new models feature high-efficiency M12 18-bus bar monocrystalline cells for added efficiency, along with a brand-new exclusive, low-profile frame for improved installs. The 200W panels feature advanced technology that allows them to collect energy even when parked in the shade. - Coachmen Separates Apex and Remote Brands: This week, Coachmen RV announced a strategic business move to help streamline production, design, and support for its vehicles. Up until now, the company’s Apex and Remote travel trailer brands have been under the same leadership and management team. But moving forward, the two will be separate entities, each with its own General Manager and support staff.
