On April 28, Newmar unveiled the all-new 2023 editions of its Dutch Star, Bay Star, and Essex line of motorhomes. As is traditional in the RV industry, those new models were revealed at a private dealer meeting held in Orlando, Florida. But for the first time ever, the company also hosted a live stream event, allowing the general public to join in on the exclusive reveal. More than 2000 eager fans tuned in live to catch a glimpse of the next generation of these iconic coaches. What they saw did not disappoint, as all three are receiving significant upgrades in the next model year.
New features for the trio of motorhomes include modern styling both inside and out, with additional décor and flooring options to choose from. The RVs will get updated slide-out fascia designs and remodeled interiors that include contemporary countertops, backsplashes, and window treatments. Each model also offers new furniture and bedding options too. A newly redesigned dash now includes Apple CarPlay as a standard feature across all of the models.

The Dutch Star, the best-selling Class A diesel brand of 2021, gets three new floor plans, bringing the total number of options to 12. The RV also features mobile app connectivity, allowing owners to control lights, HVAC systems, and other onboard features. Other upgrades include a 9” digital dash with backup camera integration and easy-close basement doors for the external storage compartments.
The Bay Star also has three new floor plans in 2023, bringing its total to 11. The RV gets roomier inside as well, with its ceilings going from 80” in height to 84”, giving the vehicle a more open feel. A 10” Axxera touchscreen infotainment system is also new, as is multiplex wiring and a central monitor panel for adjusting lights, temperature, and power settings.

Newmar’s Essex luxury motorhome now offers five floor plans to choose from, including two completely new options only available on the latest model. The 45-foot diesel coach features more interior space in 2023, along with push-button basement storage doors that eliminate the need for handles altogether. The RV also offers a side-tilt feature to aid in emptying tanks.
Additionally, the Essex gets an upgrade to its electrical system with two 320 amp-hour Lithionics lithium-ion battery packs as a standard feature. The same batteries are an optional upgrade for the Dutch Star, bringing plenty of clean, efficient energy to the campsite.
